Edwin Rosen is a phantom—appearing at irregular intervals and disappearing just as quickly. When he releases music, it's uncompromising—and, above all, uncompromisingly good. Now, Edwin Rosen is back. A new year, new music, and a new tour—a reward for all those who’ve patiently waited for a sign of life in recent months.

With "leichter/kälter", he let the Neue Neue Deutsche Welle wash over the German music scene in 2020. His unique ability to wrap feelings of nostalgia, melancholy, sorrow, and hope into captivating songs has had a powerful impact. After millions of streams on his early releases, he now looks out at thousands of faces at his concerts—his music resonates deeply and has made him an indie breakout star. Yet instead of exploiting this sudden attention, Edwin Rosen stays true to himself, sending only occasional musical signals.

There are many reasons for this: Edwin Rosen has long struggled with his own high standards, and uncertainty about his musical direction emerged—a tricky vicious cycle that has now led to the new EP "Die Sterne". “It’s a compilation of some older tracks, some of which people might already know from concerts,” Rosen explains—with his characteristic understatement.

The songs on the EP, created in collaboration with Maximilian Spatz (aka sparr00w) and Joel Schwander (aka bleac), once again highlight the special quality of the Stuttgart-based musician. He has a rare gift for blending the charm of new wave, synth-pop, and bedroom production. This time around, the new songs are a bit darker and faster than what we’ve come to expect from Edwin Rosen. "Die Sterne" is also meant to be “the conclusion of the old material”. And it won’t be too long this time before Edwin Rosen returns with new music.

On October 31, Edwin Rosen returns to Zurich for a live show at X-TRA!
