The successful French multi-instrumentalist, singer and producer FKJ returns with his new single “Soulmates”. At the same time, he announces his third studio album, “Tyber”, which is set to be released in autumn. FKJ has also announced an extensive headline tour across Europe.
“‘Soulmates’ is about embracing loneliness,” says FKJ. “For me, solitude works really well, and I take time for myself. But my soulmates, the people in my life who matter to me, are very close to my heart. It’s about finding the right balance.”
As an artist whose work moves between timeless musicianship and a spirit of experimentation, FKJ has created a unique musical world in which the boundaries between jazz, soul, classical music, hip-hop, funk, rock and electronic influences blur. His music continues to resonate with a global audience drawn both to its technical sophistication and its intimate atmosphere.
“Soulmates” offers a first glimpse into “Tyber” – a project that captures a period of personal and creative transformation following the release of his acclaimed album “V I N C E N T”. Written and recorded across several continents, the album reflects years spent exploring movement, solitude, collaboration and renewal. Sessions took place in London, Los Angeles, Paris, Brazil and Mexico, with each location subtly shaping the album’s sonic identity.
The result is FKJ at his most expansive and uninhibited. On “Tyber”, groove-driven compositions sit alongside jazz-oriented instrumentals, sample-heavy experiments and more direct songwriting moments, moving seamlessly through funk, alt-pop, R&B and psychedelic textures without ever losing cohesion. The album feels both deeply personal and globally shaped, placing the spotlight on an artist documenting his evolution in real time.
The new single “Soulmates” embodies this spirit. Warm, engaging and rhythmically fluid, the track highlights FKJ’s instinctive approach to composition while offering a natural entry point into the wider world of “Tyber”. It is music rooted equally in technical musicianship and emotional immediacy – a balance that has become central to his appeal.
The upcoming album also features an extensive list of guest musicians, including Lucy Park, Baby Rose, Bas, Eryn Allen Kane and Labrinth, further underlining the range of influences and perspectives running through the project.
Over the course of his career, FKJ has earned wide recognition for redefining the boundaries of contemporary French electronic music. Often described as a pioneer of the New French House movement, he has developed a distinctive style built on live instrumentation, improvisation, looping and layered production. His French heritage remains a defining thread throughout his work, even as his music continues to draw inspiration from cultures and communities around the world.
Beyond the studio, FKJ has built a loyal international fanbase, gained more than 2.5 million YouTube subscribers and become known for the immersive visual and musical experience of his live performances. His upcoming headline tour through Europe and Asia marks the beginning of a new chapter, bringing the world of “Tyber” to audiences through the dynamic, free-flowing performances that have become synonymous with his name.
